Acid washing autosampler vials has consequences.

There is no reason to acid wash RSA vials. The main reason to wash ordinary vials is to reduce adsorption due to native silanols on the glass. Since RSA has virtually no silanols, this is not necessary.

Some of the consequences to acid washing include time and materials but also you run the risk of chloride and sodium residue left in the vials as well as other trace elements found in the reagents.
