No, our sparging / filter stones are designed to work with polymeric, low pressure tubing such as PTFE, FEP, ETFE, or PFA.
We offer two types of sparging devices. One type is will require the tubing to be inserted and screwed into the sparging stones. Inside there are small, sharp chads or barbs that grips into the soft tubing holding it in place. If tubing is hard or made of stainless steel, it will not be held. and it will disconnect from the unit.
The other type of stone has a stem on it. The OD of the stem and the ID of the soft tubing should be the same. When you push the tubing down onto the stem, it is stretched over the stem and this “negative” tolerance will hold the tubing in place. With hard tubing like PEEK or Stainless Steel, you cannot stretch the tubing and therefore it cannot be used.
