Office Closures

POLICY ON OFFICE CLOSURE/INCLEMENT WEATHER

In the event of inclement weather or other circumstances where it is it may be necessary to close the office or have delayed opening/early dismissal, Management will determine whether any of these events are necessary. All of the following apply to inclement weather or other unforeseen event which may arise where Management must make decisions on whether the office remains open:

• The Company is not responsible for paying for work days that the company is forced to close due to inclement weather or other events beyond its control. The employees can use earned unused personal time or vacation for these events.
• If an employee decides to leave early or come in late, and the office/warehouse is open, they will only be paid for missed hours if they have earned unused personal time which he/she will be required to use. If they do not have any or are short on earned unused personal time, they will not be paid for missed hours nor will they be allowed to make up the time.
• If an employee calls in, and the office/warehouse is open, he/she will only be paid for earned unused personal or vacation time which they will be required to use, in that order. If they do not have at least 8 hours of personal or vacation, separately (not in combination) they will not be paid for the day nor will they be allowed to make up the time.
• If an employee leaves early and the office/warehouse is open, and the office later closes, the employee will not be paid for the hours the office/warehouse is closed, except as described above, using earned unused personal time.
• If an employee leaves early and the office/warehouse is open, and the office/warehouse is closed the next day due to inclement weather, the employee will not be paid for the day the office/warehouse is closed unless as described above by using 8 hours of personal or vacation time.
