Normally one would use high heat from the CE Window Maker™ or a similar item to remove the polyimide coating of a CE capillary. However, the polymer that is present on the inside wall of the Zero EOF Capillary will be damaged so it is not recommended. The void that results at this section of capillary will adversely affect your data. Instead, remove the protective polyimide coating by using 98% fuming sulfuric acid. One drop should be sufficient for complete removal. A low temperature flame may be used as well. Always use appropriate and approved safety precautions when performing the above.
