What maximum flow rate can I use for a PTFE, 10m, 0.75mm ID Knitted Reactor Coil (KRC) with isopropanol?

Reference Number: AA-02476 Created: 11/04/2014 12:32 PM Last Updated: 11/25/2014 11:10 AM

Question: I am using a PTFE Knitted Reactor Coil (KRC) with 10m length and 0.75mm ID with isopropanol as the fluid I am pumping. What is the maximum flow rate I can use under these conditions?

Answer: At ambient temperature, you should operate at no more than 10mL/min with isopropanol in order to stay within the mechanical stability specifications of the KRC tubing. Ramp up the flow rate slowly from zero in order to avoid a sudden high pressure.
