The 350 µL inserts used in the U-2D™ product are made of Class A, Type 33 borosilicate glass but are of a special design which resists bubble formation. The U-2D™ inserts, standard or deactivated, can be autoclaved, sterilized, processed in a centrifuge, or stored similar to any other borosilicate glass material. Additionally, the U-2D inserts, once placed inside a wide-opening 2mL screw top autosampler vial, are self-aligning thus eliminating the poly spring so often found on inserts.
The silicone mat material contains no special additives, can be treated similar to any other 100% silicone cover mat, and is approved for LCMS use.
