Use non surfactant, Brij-35 to reduce biofouling
When many proteins get trapped on or adhere to stainless steel frits that are hydrophobic like our metal free surfaces, it is a good idea to add Brig-35 to a wash buffer to facilitate removal of very sticky proteins including BSA, mouse IgG and human plasma proteins.
Brig-35 will not diminish or change the effectiveness of the metal free surface. It is important to work in low concentrations of any ionic polymer to minimize biofouling due to surfaces.
