Except for the obvious, there is no difference between amber and clear RSA™ glass, chromatographically speaking.

Regarding adsorption of basic analytes or effect of pH on sample diluent, we have not observed any differences from our QC testing and our R&D experiences.

Typically one would choose amber over clear glass in situations where light-sensitive analytes are involved. Amber RSA™ vials are made with N51A expansion glass and clear RSA vials are made with 33 expansion glass.
