Cogent NP Silica™ Semi-Preparative HPLC Columns are designed for purification, method scale-up, and semi-preparative chromatography applications involving lipids, polar compounds, and hydrophilic analytes. Manufactured from ultra-high purity, low-metal-content 100 Å silica, this stationary phase is completely unmodified, providing the traditional selectivity associated with USP L3 classified silica. NP Silica™ is widely used when maximum silica activity is desired for normal-phase and HILIC purification methods.

82561-SP250 is packed with 5 µm NP Silica™ particles in a 10 mm ID x 250 mm semi-preparative format. The 5 µm particle size supports semi-preparative flow rates while producing lower backpressure than smaller particle columns. The extended column length provides maximum resolution and peak capacity, while the larger internal diameter offers increased sample loading capacity for demanding purification and method scale-up applications.

The 10 mm ID x 250 mm format is well suited for HILIC and normal-phase chromatography involving hydrophilic and polar compounds. Typical flow rates are approximately 3–8 mL/min depending on mobile phase composition, system pressure limitations, and application requirements. A semi-preparative or preparative HPLC system capable of supporting these flow rates and injection volumes is recommended for optimum performance.
