Cogent NP Silica™ Semi-Preparative HPLC Columns are designed for purification, method scale-up, and semi-preparative chromatography applications involving lipids, polar compounds, and hydrophilic analytes. Manufactured from ultra-high purity, low-metal-content 100 Å silica, this stationary phase is completely unmodified, providing the traditional selectivity associated with USP L3 classified silica. NP Silica™ is widely used when maximum silica activity is desired for normal-phase and HILIC purification methods.

82561-SP100 is packed with 5 µm NP Silica™ particles in a 10 mm ID x 100 mm semi-preparative format. The 5 µm particle size supports semi-preparative flow rates while producing lower backpressure than smaller particle columns. The larger internal diameter provides increased sample loading capacity compared to analytical columns, making it ideal for purification, fraction collection, and analytical-to-semi-preparative method scale-up.

The 10 mm ID x 100 mm format is well suited for semi-preparative HILIC and normal-phase chromatography involving hydrophilic and polar compounds. Typical flow rates are approximately 3-8 mL/min depending on mobile phase composition, system pressure limitations, and application requirements. A semi-preparative or preparative HPLC system capable of supporting these flow rates and injection volumes is recommended for optimum performance.
