Cogent HPS Cyano™ Semi-Preparative HPLC Columns are designed for purification, fraction collection, and method scale-up of polar and moderately retained compounds using reversed-phase chromatography. Manufactured using a monofunctional three-carbon ligand with a terminal cyano functional group bonded to high-purity 120Å silica and fully end capped, this stationary phase provides excellent reproducibility, moderate hydrophobicity, and rapid equilibration characteristics. HPS Cyano™ is particularly useful when a purification requires less retention than C18 phases while maintaining excellent selectivity and recovery.

75025-SP100 is packed with 5 µm HPS Cyano™ particles in a 10 mm ID x 100 mm semi-preparative format. The 5 µm particle size provides excellent chromatographic efficiency with lower operating backpressure than smaller particles. The 10 mm internal diameter increases sample loading capacity compared to analytical columns, making this format ideal for compound isolation, purification, fraction collection, and analytical-to-semi-preparative method transfer.

The HPS Cyano™ stationary phase is particularly useful for purification of polar and neutral compounds where shorter retention times and faster equilibration are desired. Compared to non-modified silica columns, the cyano phase provides more reproducible reversed-phase behavior while maintaining efficient purification performance. The 100 mm length provides an excellent balance of purification speed and chromatographic resolution, making this column suitable for routine purification workflows and method scale-up applications.
