68540-SP-PG1 is packed with 5 µm NP Amino™ particles in a 10 mm ID x 10 mm guard cartridge format with a 100Å pore size. Manufactured using a three-carbon propyl ligand containing a terminal amino functional group bonded to the highest purity silica available, this stationary phase is not end capped and provides the same selectivity characteristics as Cogent NP Amino™ semi-preparative columns. Each cartridge is packed in a stainless steel tube with stainless steel frits for durability and reliable operation in purification applications.

Designed specifically to protect NP Amino™ semi-preparative columns, these guard cartridges help prevent particulate matter and strongly adsorbed contaminants from reaching the analytical bed. They are particularly useful for HILIC and Normal Phase separations involving sugars, compounds containing carboxylic acid groups, and other highly polar analytes. Routine guard cartridge replacement helps extend column life while maintaining reproducible chromatographic performance.
