The 5 µm particle size performs well at preparative flow rates while maintaining moderate backpressure. The large internal diameter and extended column length provide maximum loading capacity and increased resolution, making this column ideal for purification, fraction collection, and analytical-to-preparative method scale-up.
The 21.2 mm ID x 250 mm format is particularly well suited for purification of positional isomers, tocopherols, flavonoids, polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons, nitro-aromatic compounds, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), natural products, and related compounds containing aromatic structures. Typical operating flow rates are approximately 15–25 mL/min depending on mobile phase composition, system pressure limitations, and application requirements. A specialized preparative HPLC system capable of supporting these flow rates and sample loads is required.
