ARE-Applied Research ETFE (Ethylene Tetrafluoroethylene), commonly known by the trade name Tefzel™, tubing is manufactured from virgin ETFE resin without the use of processing additives. ETFE tubing is widely used in low-pressure laboratory fluid handling applications due to its excellent chemical resistance, low permeability, and mechanical durability. Compared to PTFE tubing, ETFE offers lower gas permeability while maintaining excellent compatibility with most laboratory solvents and reagents. ETFE is chemically inert except when used with certain halogenated compounds.
48510-20-3M is supplied as a convenient 3-meter roll of natural translucent ETFE tubing with a 0.020 inch (0.50 mm) internal diameter and 1/16 inch (1.6 mm) outer diameter. The larger internal diameter provides greater flow capacity than 0.010 inch ID tubing while maintaining low dead volume and excellent chemical compatibility. The thicker wall construction provides durability and a high pressure rating for demanding laboratory fluid transfer applications.
The translucent tubing wall allows visual monitoring of fluid movement and is suitable for use before and after HPLC pumps, including mobile phase delivery, solvent transfer, waste handling, reagent delivery, and general laboratory fluid transport applications.
