Additional Information:

Cogent NP Diol™ Wide Pore HPLC Columns are designed for the separation of hydrophilic, polar, and larger molecular weight compounds using Normal Phase and HILIC chromatography modes. Manufactured using high-purity 300Å wide-pore silica bonded with a short hydrocarbon ligand containing a terminal diol functional group, this stationary phase is not end capped and provides enhanced accessibility for larger molecules while maintaining the selectivity expected from a diol phase. NP Diol™ Wide Pore columns are widely used as an alternative for USP L20 methods and for analytical methods involving biomolecules, proteins, peptides, and other large molecular weight analytes.

82360-10P-2-3M is packed with 3 µm NP Diol™ Wide Pore particles in a 2.1 mm ID x 100 mm analytical format. The narrow-bore design reduces solvent consumption while maintaining excellent chromatographic efficiency. The 3 µm particle size provides higher efficiency and sharper peak shapes than comparable 5 µm columns, although increased operating pressure should be expected. The 100 mm column length provides an excellent balance between resolution and analysis speed for routine analytical applications.

The NP Diol™ Wide Pore stationary phase is commonly selected for hydrophilic and polar compounds analyzed by HILIC and Normal Phase chromatography, particularly when larger molecules require enhanced pore accessibility. It is frequently used as a replacement for unmodified silica columns because it offers improved robustness and broader solvent compatibility while maintaining strong polar selectivity. The 300Å pore structure is especially beneficial for proteins, peptides, biomolecules, and other larger analytes that may not be effectively separated on standard pore-size materials.
