Packed with the same NP Amino™ stationary phase as the corresponding analytical columns, these guard cartridges help maintain chromatographic performance while reducing replacement costs and instrument downtime.

68540-PG2 is packed with 5 µm NP Amino™ particles in a 4.0 mm ID x 10 mm guard cartridge format with a 100Å pore size. Manufactured using a three-carbon propyl ligand containing a terminal amino functional group bonded to the highest purity silica available, this stationary phase is not end capped and provides the same selectivity characteristics as Cogent NP Amino™ analytical columns. Each cartridge is packed in a stainless steel tube and fitted with stainless steel frits pressed into durable PEEK frit caps for reliable performance and long service life.

Designed to protect 3.0 mm, 4.0 mm, and 4.6 mm ID NP Amino™ analytical columns, these guard cartridges capture particulates and strongly adsorbed contaminants before they reach the analytical column. They are especially useful for HILIC and Normal Phase separations involving sugars, compounds containing carboxylic acid groups, and other highly polar analytes. Routine guard cartridge replacement can significantly extend analytical column life while maintaining reproducible chromatographic performance.
