Cogent NP Amino™ HPLC Columns are designed for Normal Phase and HILIC separations of highly polar compounds. Manufactured using ultra-high purity silica bonded with a three-carbon propyl linker and terminal amino functionality, this stationary phase provides the selectivity needed for retention and separation of compounds that can be difficult to retain using traditional reversed-phase chromatography. NP Amino™ is an excellent alternative for USP L8 methods and for new method development involving polar analytes.
68540-10P-2 is packed with 5 µm NP Amino™ particles in a 2.1 mm ID x 100 mm format with a 100Å pore size. The 5 µm particle size provides reliable performance with moderate backpressure while maintaining excellent reproducibility. The narrow-bore 2.1 mm ID format reduces solvent consumption and typically operates at flow rates of approximately 0.2–0.3 mL/min. The HPLC system must be capable of delivering stable and accurate low-flow performance for optimum results.
The amino stationary phase is not end capped and is particularly useful for sugars, carbohydrates, organic acids, and other highly polar compounds containing hydroxyl or carboxylic acid functionalities. This column can be used in Normal Phase and HILIC chromatographic modes and is packed and shipped in normal-phase solvents. Although the 2.1 mm format is commonly associated with LC-MS dimensions, this column is not recommended for LC-MS applications. The 100 mm length provides an excellent balance between retention, resolution, and analysis speed for polar compound separations.
