HPLC Column, RP Phenyl Hexyl, 5um, 4.6mm ID x 150mm Length, 100A. Cogent Brand. 1 EA.
Additional Information:
Cogent RP Phenyl Hexyl™ HPLC Columns are designed for reversed-phase separations where enhanced aromatic selectivity and strong π-π interactions are desired. Manufactured using ultra-high purity silica bonded with a six-carbon linker and terminal Phenyl group, this stationary phase is fully double end-capped to minimize secondary interactions and provide highly reproducible chromatographic performance. RP Phenyl Hexyl™ is an excellent alternative for USP L11 methods that specify a Phenyl Hexyl stationary phase as well as for new method development.
68539-15P is packed with 5 µm RP Phenyl Hexyl™ particles in a 4.6 mm ID x 150 mm format with a 100Å pore size. The 5 µm particle size provides lower operating backpressure than smaller particles while maintaining excellent efficiency and reproducibility. The 150 mm column length offers enhanced chromatographic resolution compared to shorter columns, making it ideal for routine analytical methods, method development, and complex separations requiring improved resolving power.
The six-carbon linker positions the Phenyl group farther from the silica surface, increasing π-π interactions while reducing the influence of residual silanol activity. This enhanced selectivity can improve retention and separation of many aromatic and moderately polar analytes including positional isomers, tocopherols, flavonoids, polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons, nitro-aromatic compounds, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), natural products, and related compounds. For optimized π-π interactions, methanol is often preferred over acetonitrile as the organic modifier. This is one of the most popular RP Phenyl Hexyl™ columns and is frequently selected as a first choice for USP monograph methods.
