59001-25P is a 250 mm x 4.6 mm ID analytical column packed with 10 µm, 125Å MicroBee Silica particles. The 250 mm length offers increased theoretical plates and improved resolution compared to shorter columns, making it suitable for challenging separations where maximum separation efficiency is more important than analysis speed. The industry-standard 4.6 mm ID format typically operates best at approximately 1.0–2.0 mL/min on conventional HPLC systems.
Because the stationary phase is completely unmodified silica, this column is an excellent alternative for legacy methods specifying USP L3 columns. It is suitable for the separation of hydrophilic, hydrophobic, polar, and non-polar compounds using normal phase chromatography and offers performance comparable to traditional Porasil® silica columns. Unbonded silica is also suitable for HILIC applications when appropriate high-organic mobile phase conditions are employed.
